Task 6

Reference - these are your sources to prove you have some element of experience in the job role you are applying for and to ascertain the job. Task 8
Training on the job/ continuing professional development - is the learning of the work you are doing while being involved practically and earning an income within the job role. Task 9
Film studies - this has helped my functional skills because during the duration of the course and the exam we were improving our written communication skills that are very important in some roles within the TV and Film industry. Job roles like producers need this to be able to do the job e.g. request for funding for a project.
Btec Media TV and Film -  this course has helped my IT skills a lot. These are becoming the back drop of all jobs but with the film production and media industry it is vital. Also the presentations I have done in  the course have helped me a little bit with confidence. With the feedback I was given I didn't come across as nervous however I did feel very anxious which surprised me. This is an important skill as jobs within this industry thrive on confidence as you are selling yourself and your image and even your idea if you are a director or a producer. With the IT skills I have gained I know I have become familiar with the computer programmes that are used in this industry which also makes me feel more confident as I know if i keep practising at the programmes I could maybe even work on a Film production project and produce a product to a professional standard.

  1. Duncan,

You have made a good start here and achieved a pass to begin with. To get a merit you need to do two things: 1. add specific examples of methods of recruitment and sources of information, eg., trade press and national press publications and unions and sector skills councils, 2. find a real job being advertised and write your cover letter for that job.

    Great start Duncan,

  2. Duncan

You have added specific examples for sources of information but have got examples of method of recruitment a bit wrong. This just gets a merit and your cover letter is much improved.
